CLINTON, IOWA — Recently the Clinton Humane Society in Clinton, Iowa became one of only five shelters in the world to launch an interactive kitten room with cutting-edge technology known as i-Pet Companion™, created by a company in Idaho known as AliceVISION™, a branch of Apriori LLC. i-Pet Companion is free to the public and has already boosted adoptions, donations, and sponsorships.

With this technology, people around the globe will be able to operate a remote camera and robotic toys via their computer mouse, allowing them to play in “real time” with the kittens at the Clinton shelter while they wait for a new “furever” home.

The shelter is extremely excited to be able to launch this fantastic technology and look forward to kitten adoptions increasing as well as donations for shelter operations. A spokesperson for the shelter purred, “This technology will allow families who are unable to have pets the opportunity to play with the kittens. It would also be wonderful therapy for allergenic, autistic, homebound online users and even older people who reside in nursing homes and had to give up their beloved pet.” It’s amazing!! It’s addictive!! Some of the kittens are so into it that you literally have to tear yourself away from the screen!

The bottom line at the shelter has always been ‘It’s All About The Animals’, and if this can improve the quality of life for our animals- whether by boosting adoptions or donations- we want to welcome the world inside our shelter.

i-Pet Companion requires Silverlight to be installed on the internet browser, which is a safe, one-time free download and is compatible with all major browsers- Internet Explorer, Safari and Firefox. A high-speed internet connection of 2 megabytes download speed is also required.
